If you can sing or have ever sung in a choir and would like to become a member of a local friendly group, then do think about joining us! 

Lucy makes rehearsals fun, whilst challenging us to learn new and interesting music to achieve the highest quality of musical standards.

You will find varying degrees of talent within our ranks and although the ability to read music is a great asset it is not entirely essential. Obviously there are a few basics to master but you do not need to be supremely competent.

If you feel out of your depth after one rehearsal, please do not give up. Many of us had not sung seriously since our school-choir days and also found it quite daunting to start with, so give it a few weeks before you decide whether it is for you.

Subscriptions

There is an annual subscription, but we are flexible about payments and lack of funds will never be a reason for anyone not to sing with Folkestone Choral Society. Members under 25 years old are not asked for any subs.

Music scores can be hired through the choral society.

No auditions

​​Our Musical Director expects high standards and we work hard to achieve this.  We do not hold auditions. However, on the odd occasion there may be a simple voice assessment just to make sure members are singing in the section of the choir best suited to their voice.  

You are welcome to come along at any rehearsal and sit in and perhaps join in with us to get the unique experience of choral singing.  ​Our aim is to produce high quality performances with first rate professional soloists and orchestras.

Our venues for our concerts have been varied over the years but in recent times and for the forthcoming programmes the venues include Leas Cliff Hall, Holy Trinity Church - Folkestone and St. Leonard`s Church - Hythe.
